About
From the Philadelphia suburbs, Lety ElNaggar studied saxophone, clarinet, and flute with leading musicians in the area before expanding into Middle Eastern and Latin American woodwinds. She spent a decade writing and performing across the US, Europe, and the Middle East, including through Out Of Nations, her collaborative project with producer and engineer Chahine. Her work has also included performances and collaborations with artists such as Ziad Rahbani, Ilham Madfai, and Ghalia Benali.
Alongside music, Lety studied literature, ethnomusicology, and global history at Columbia University and Humboldt/Freie Universities in Berlin, interests that continue to shape the way she writes about people, place, and everyday conversation. Now based in Los Angeles, she continues to write with Chahine out of hidden track studio.
